Vortex Diamondback HD 20-60x85 Angled Spotting Scope

The Vortex Diamondback HD 20-60x85 Angled Spotting Scope has been redesigned to deliver impressive optical performance, rugged reliability and excellent low-light capability in a hard-working spotting scope built for demanding outdoor use. Featuring an HD Optical System, large 85mm objective lens and versatile 20-60x magnification, the Diamondback HD provides sharp, detailed views of distant subjects, making it an excellent choice for wildlife observation, birdwatching, hunting, nature watching and long-distance viewing.

The HD optical system uses select glass elements to deliver exceptional resolution, reduced chromatic aberration, outstanding colour fidelity, edge-to-edge sharpness and excellent light transmission. The large 85mm objective lens helps maximise brightness and clarity, particularly when viewing subjects in lower light. Fully multi-coated lenses use multiple anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces to increase light transmission and provide greater clarity and low-light performance.

The redesigned Diamondback HD features a sleek, rugged profile with a helical focus wheel integrated into the barrel. This provides fast, fine focusing while creating a snag-free design that is easier to pack, transport and mount. The rugged aluminium chassis is protected by full-body rubber armour, providing a secure, non-slip grip and durable external protection.

Built for demanding outdoor conditions, the spotting scope is O-ring sealed and argon gas purged for waterproof and fogproof performance. The exterior lenses feature ArmorTek ultra-hard, scratch-resistant coatings to help protect against scratches, oil and dirt, while the rugged construction is designed to withstand impact.

The angled viewing design provides a comfortable viewing position and is particularly useful when sharing the scope between users of different heights or when using the scope on a tripod. A rotating tripod mount allows the viewing position to be adjusted, while the built-in sunshade helps reduce glare and protects the objective lens from raindrops and snow. The scope is also Arca-Swiss compatible, allowing direct mounting to compatible tripod heads.

Ideal For

The Vortex Diamondback HD 20-60x85 Angled Spotting Scope is ideal for birdwatchers, wildlife enthusiasts, hunters, nature observers and outdoor users who need powerful magnification and excellent optical performance for long-distance viewing. The 20-60x zoom range provides flexibility for locating subjects at lower magnification before increasing the power for more detailed observation.

The large 85mm objective lens makes this scope particularly useful when viewing in changing or lower-light conditions, while the rugged waterproof and fog proof construction makes it well suited to demanding outdoor environments.

HD Optical System

The Diamondback HD features an HD Optical System optimised with select glass elements to deliver exceptional resolution, reduce chromatic aberration and provide outstanding colour fidelity, edge-to-edge sharpness and light transmission.

The fully multi-coated lenses feature multiple anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces to increase light transmission for greater clarity and improved low-light performance. The large 85mm objective lens further helps maximise the amount of available light reaching the optical system.

20-60x Magnification

The versatile 20-60x zoom eyepiece provides a wide range of magnification for different viewing situations. Use 20x magnification to locate and track subjects across wider areas, then increase towards 60x when additional detail is required.

The scope provides an angular field of view of 2.1° at 20x to 1.1° at 60x, equivalent to a linear field of view of 108 to 60 feet at 1,000 yards.

Helical Focus

The integrated helical focus wheel provides fast and fine focusing while contributing to the scope's sleek, streamlined design. The snag-free construction makes the scope easier to pack, transport and mount, making it particularly practical for photographers, birdwatchers, hunters and wildlife observers who regularly move between locations.

Rugged Outdoor Construction

The Diamondback HD features a rugged aluminium chassis protected by full-body rubber armour. This provides a secure, non-slip grip while helping protect the scope from the knocks and bumps associated with outdoor use.

ArmorTek provides an ultra-hard, scratch-resistant coating on the exterior lenses to help protect against scratches, oil and dirt. The scope is also designed to withstand impact, making it suitable for demanding field conditions.

Waterproof and Fogproof

The scope is O-ring sealed and argon gas purged, preventing moisture and debris from entering while helping prevent internal fogging across a wide range of temperatures. This makes the Diamondback HD 20-60x85 suitable for reliable use in changing weather and demanding outdoor environments.

Angled Viewing and Rotating Tripod Mount

The angled design provides a comfortable viewing position, particularly when the scope is mounted on a tripod. The rotating tripod mount allows the eyepiece to be positioned to suit the user, while the adjustable eyecup provides comfortable viewing.

The built-in sunshade helps reduce glare and provides additional protection for the objective lens from raindrops and snow.

Tripod and Arca-Swiss Compatible

The Diamondback HD 20-60x85 is tripod adaptable and designed for use with a tripod or car window mount. It is also Arca-Swiss compatible, allowing direct mounting to compatible Arca-Swiss tripod heads without requiring an additional plate.
