Used Leica R8 35mm Film SLR Camera

The Leica R8 Camera Body is a professional 35mm film SLR designed as a fully Leica-engineered replacement for earlier R-series models, introduced in 1996 as a high-end manual-focus system camera for advanced photographers. It features the Leica R-mount and is built around a robust, modular chassis with a distinctive sculpted design that emphasises ergonomics and control. The R8 offers a highly sophisticated metering system with selectable multi-pattern, centre-weighted, and spot metering modes, along with exposure modes including manual, aperture priority, shutter priority, program, and flash-controlled automation, giving photographers extensive creative control. Its vertically running metal focal-plane shutter provides speeds up to 1/8000s with reliable flash sync, making it capable for both studio and action photography. The camera uses an electronic control system for exposure functions while maintaining a fully manual shooting experience, supported by a bright, interchangeable focusing screen and large optical viewfinder for precise composition. Built in Germany with a heavy-duty metal construction and rubberised grip surfaces, the R8 is known for its solid feel, durability, and professional handling, though it is relatively large and heavy compared to other 35mm SLRs. It can also be paired with motor drives and later supported digital back accessories, making it one of the most advanced and flexible film SLR systems Leica ever produced.

Heavily used conditions may have significant signs of cosmetic wear, i.e. scuffing / shiny surfaces/marks/scratches / chipping to paint/peeling surfaces.

Warranty

We offer a 3 month warranty Against Mechanical Breakdowns on all our used equipment.
This does not include accidental damage, shutter/mirror breakdown over the company's rated amount, or loss or theft. 
For our vintage items, such as film cameras, this warranty does not cover failed light seals, classified as wear and tear.

Please keep a copy of your receipt, which is enclosed with your delivery.
