The Tamron 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 Di III VXD is an ultra-telephoto zoom lens that has been optimised for use with Sony E-Mount, full-frame mirrorless cameras. The lens boasts an unprecedented 50-400mm zoom range, wide angle of view, 8x zoom ratio and a minimum object distance of 25cm at its 50mm end. This highly versatile lens is perfect for landscapes, portraits and half-macro photography.

Design and Build
The 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 Di III VXD is incredibly compact and lightweight considering its zoom length, weighing in at 1,155g and measuring 18.3cm. The lens is constructed of 24 elements in 18 groups, including XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion), LD (Low Dispersion) and Hybrid Aspherical lens elements, to effectively deliver uncompromising high image quality throughout the entire 50-400mm zoom range. The lens features nine circular aperture blades to produce beautiful bokeh and a 67mm filter size which is the same as many other Tamron lenses, allowing you to use the same size filters or adapter rings on all your lenses. The lens is also Moisture-Resistant and features Fluorine Coating.

Fast AF
The 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 Di III VXD lens is equipped with Tamron’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) autofocus system. This linear motor focus mechanism is exceptionally quiet and responsive and operates at high speeds with great precision, so you never miss that shot. The lens also features Tamron’s VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilisation mechanism to aid in all shooting scenarios.

Half-Macro Photography
The 50-400mm is suited to a wide range of photographic styles, including half-macro photography. This is thanks to its ability to provide up to one-half life-size magnification during close focus and a MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of 25cm at the 50mm end.

Improved Ergonomics
The lens features several ergonomic features to enhance comfort and smoother operation. This includes an improved texture, scratch resistance, a Connector Port for the Tamron Lens Utility, a Zoom Lock switch and an optional tripod mount that is Arca-Swiss compatible.

Tamron Lens Utility Compatible
Compatible with Tamron Lens Utility software, the lens can be customised and have its firmware updated from your computer. Tamron’s unique software includes focus presets, AF/MF select focus, a switch focus/aperture ring function, and the new focus limiter.
