Used Manfrotto Digital Director for IPad Air

The Used Manfrotto Digital Director for iPad Air is a specialist camera control and workflow accessory designed to connect compatible Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras to an Apple iPad Air using a reliable wired USB connection. Combining a built-in processor with the dedicated Digital Director app, it allows photographers to monitor and control key camera settings directly from the iPad, making it a useful solution for studio photography, tethered shooting, remote camera control, Live View and professional photography workflows.

The Digital Director provides an intuitive touchscreen interface for controlling compatible camera settings including exposure, ISO, shutter speed, aperture, white balance, image quality and focus. The iPad can also provide real-time Live View monitoring, allowing photographers to compose and monitor their images on the larger screen rather than relying solely on the camera's built-in display.

The dedicated app also provides useful workflow features including focus point selection, digital zoom, focus peaking, histogram and zebra display, as well as tools for organising, editing and sharing images. The Digital Director can also be used for intervalometer and time-lapse setup on compatible cameras, making it a versatile addition to a tethered photography setup.

Ideal For

The Manfrotto Digital Director is ideal for studio photographers, professional photographers, tethered shooting, product photography, portrait photography, time-lapse photography and remote camera operation. Using an iPad Air as a large touchscreen interface can make it easier to monitor composition, check focus and adjust camera settings during a shoot.

It can also be useful for photographers who want to review, organise and share images directly through the iPad, providing a more comprehensive shooting and workflow solution than a conventional camera-to-tablet connection.

Camera Compatibility

The Digital Director for iPad Air was designed to work with selected Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras. Compatible Canon models listed by Manfrotto include cameras such as the EOS-1D X, 5D Mark III, 5D Mark IV, 6D, 7D Mark II, 80D, 70D, 60D, 750D, 700D and 100D, while supported Nikon models include the D5, D4/D4S, D810, D800/D800E, D750, D7200, D7100, D7000, D5500 and D5300, among others. Compatibility and available functions vary by camera model.

Please check your camera against Manfrotto's Digital Director compatibility information before purchasing, as this is an older discontinued system and not every Canon or Nikon DSLR is supported.
