Tamron has developed its new 70-300mm f/ 4.5-6.3 DI III RXD lens to be compatible with Nikon’s Mirrorless Z mount system. The first Tamron lens that is compatible with the Z mount system, this lightweight and compact lens is the world’s smallest and lightest telephoto zoom lens fit for a full-frame mirrorless camera. The 70-300mm focal length is very popular amongst many photographers, providing a good range in a nice compact size.
Supreme lightweight portability
The lens has been designed to preserve the high-quality optical design everyone has come to expect and love from TAMRON in a small compact system. This full-frame mirrorless lens weighs only 580g (20.5oz) with a length of only 150.30mm (5.9 in), making it the world's smallest full-frame telephoto zoom lens.
Optical design
Optimised for the perfect balance between size and high-quality optical performance, this lens has been created with 15 elements in 10 groups. This includes a low dispersion lens, precisely arranged to suppress axial chromatic abrasions, that may commonly affect zoom lenses.
Excellent edge-to-edge resolution
This lens design allows you to achieve excellent edge-to-edge resolution even at 300mm. Achieve crisp-clear images throughout the entire zoom range. This lens has been optimised for use with the Nikon Z series, couple this lens with any camera in the Nikon Z series and you can achieve high-quality, expert-level images effortlessly.
Compression effects
Zoom lenses can often have a compressing effect on an image due to their limited depth of field. This can bring the background and foreground closer together, flattening the image and potential distorting the image. However, this unique perspective can be used to exaggerate some of the elements in your photograph. For example, using the Tamron 70-300 for a wide-open landscape photograph will allow you to exaggerate the scale of items in the background, so you don’t lose any of the detail when focusing on something a little closer to you.
Expert Level Anti-reflective coating
The lens has a BBAR (Broad-Band Anti Reflection) coating, helping to reduce the effect of reflections and glare on the lens's performance. Allowing you to maintain a crisp and clear image throughout its entire focal length.
Compatible with Dedicated TAMRON Lens Utility Software
Keep the Tamron 70-300mm up to date with the latest firmware thanks to the TAMRON Lens Utility Software. Enabling you to easily update the lens without through the camera.
Moisture-Resistant Construction
The Tamron 70-300mm lens has a moisture-resistant construction, with seals located at critical locations on the lens including the mounting point helping to create a tight seal around the lens. Reducing the chance of moisture entering the lens or the camera, providing another layer of protection when shooting in adverse weather conditions.
Exceptionally Quiet RXD (Rapid Extra Silent Stepping Drive) Motor
The Tamron 70-300mm lens has professional quality AF capabilities thanks to the incorporation of a sensor to accurately detect the position of the lens. Coupled with the RXD motor unit, this lens provides exceedingly fast and quiet optimal AF control.
Supports tack-sharp focusing
Supporting tack-sharp focusing even on a continuously moving subject, this AF can be used in a number of busy sporting events and can be used discreetly in a concert hall or similar situation.
